Tushar Arothe, former coach of the Indian women's team, was arrested by Vadodara Police for having INR 1 crore in cash. The operation was carried out on Saturday, March 2, by the Vadodara Police's Special Operations Group (SOG), and it turned up a sizable quantity of money at his home in the Pratapgunj locality.
The raid, which was prompted by a tip-off about questionable financial transactions, resulted in the recovery of “grey bags'' containing the reported sum of INR 1.01 crore. Rishi, Arothe's son, who has faced legal troubles for cheating and betting on cricket, was also involved in the plan. Concerns have been raised regarding the former coach and his family's possible involvement in illicit financial activities in light of this latest event.

Interestingly, he was unable to give the authorities a reasonable clarification for the cash that had been seized. Due to his unsatisfactory response, the authorities filed a lawsuit against him and two other people who were discovered to be in possession of INR 38 lakh, Vikrant Raipatvar and Amit Janit.
The proceedings were performed in accordance with Section 102 of the Criminal Procedure Code, which authorizes police to seize property considered to be connected to a crime. Notably, this is not the first time he has faced legal action. He was one of the 19 people detained in April 2019 for allegedly betting on an Indian Premier League match and was later given bail.
Speaking of Arothe's days as an active personality in cricket, the former Indian cricketer also held the position as a coach of the women's team that advanced to the 2017 ICC Women's World Cup final. He has played 51 List-A matches and 114 First-Class matches for Baroda during his playing career. In First-Class cricket, he had taken 225 wickets for Baroda and also scored 6,105 runs for them. The all-rounder retired in 2003 and became a member of the Indian Women's team's coaching staff in 2008. After a fallout in 2018, he resigned from his post, and ever since, he has been connected to several criminal cases.
