The much-awaited India vs Pakistan match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will get underway on Saturday, October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Fans are eagerly waiting for the two Asian heavyweights to collide and ignite arguably the greatest rivalry in world cricket. Ahead of the fixture, cricket fanatics are leaving no stone unturned to witness the epic encounter despite the flight and accommodation charges at an all-time high in Ahmedabad.

With just five days to go in the high voltage clash, there have been widespread rumours that team India will don the orange/saffron coloured jersey during the match against Pakistan. Notably, the Men in Blue had a special jersey for their game against England during the 2019 World Cup which had a tinge of orange along with purple colour.

However, no such jersey will be worn by Team India during this World Cup as confirmed by the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) treasurer Ashish Shelar. The Rohit Sharma-led side will be seen wearing their regular blue colour jersey for the game against Pakistan.

"We categorically dismiss the media reports that Team India will be donning an alternative match kit against Pakistan. These reports are absolutely baseless and a work of someone's imagination. The Men in Blue will sport India colours - Blue at ICC Cricket World Cup 2023,” Shelar was quoted as saying by HindustanTimes.

Several Indian cricketers have been spotted wearing orange/saffron-coloured clothes during training. However, that jersey is only there for pre-match training and the traditional blue colour is there to be worn during matches.

Meanwhile, both India and Pakistan have got their World Cup campaign off to a winning start. Pakistan beat Netherlands by 81 runs in their opening encounter in Hyderabad while India edged past Australia by six wickets in their first game in Chennai.

On the other hand, India will look to continue their dominant run and extend their winning streak to 8-0.
