Former Australian head coach Tim Nielsen signs as Pakistan's High-Performance coach in Tests
Tim Nielsen will work in unison with Test head coach Jason Gillespie during the two-match home series against Bangladesh.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have added a new member to their support staff as Tim Nielen has signed as the High-Performance coach in Tests. Nielsen will work in tandem with Test head coach Jason Gillespie to help the Asian giants muster a turnaround after being comprehensively whitewashed 3-0 by Australia earlier this year.
Pakistan's next assignment is a two-match Test series at home against Bangladesh. For the unversed, Nielsen and Gillespie have worked together in the past during their time in South Australia. The former had replaced John Buchanan as Australia's head coach in February 2007 and continued in the prestigious role until September 2011. Under Nielsen's coaching, the Men in Yellow lifted the ICC Champions Trophy in 2010 in South Africa.

Nielsen, who is 56 years old, played 101 first-class and 49 List-A games in his career. He finished with 3,800 runs in his first-class career and 639 in the List-A format. He donned the wicketkeeping gloves during his career as well. However, the England-born did not get the opportunity to represent his country, Australia even after some commendable performances in the domestic circuit.
Nielsen has linked up with Gillespie's staff and is looking after the Pakistan Shaheen's training camp ahead of the Tests against Bangladesh.
The first Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh is scheduled to take place at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi, starting August 21. Subsequently, the second Test gets underway on August 30 at the National Stadium in Karachi.

The Men in Green are currently placed at No. 5 on the World Test Championship (WTC) points table for the 2023-2025 cycle. Meanwhile, Bangladesh are second from the bottom, just above the West Indies, who are placed at No. 9. Najmul Hossain Shanto and Co have played a two-match Test series against Sri Lanka at home earlier this year. They lost both games comprehensivley against the Island Nation. Both Bangladesh and Pakistan will be eager to turn their fortunes during the upcoming Test series.
