The former India skipper and ex-BCCI President Sourav Ganguly nearly escaped an accident on Thursday, February 20. Ganguly's car met with an accident on the Durgapur Expressway at Dantanpur when he was on his way to Burdwan for an event.
Ganguly was sitting in a Range Rover along with a convoy of cars behind him. A lorry suddenly overtook his vehicle, which led the driver to apply the brakes and the other cars behind him collided with one another. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries that were reported after the incident and the damage suffered to the vehicles was not major.
Former India skipper's daughter Sana had also met with an accident in January after a bus reportedly hit her car at Kolkata's Diamond Harbour Road. However, the car was only slightly damaged and she did not suffer any injuries.
For the unversed, the 2002 Champions Trophy-winning skipper had an event at Burdwan University. He was seen interacting with the students and the University staff on Indian Cricket's future and shared some stories from his journey.
“I am overwhelmed. It feels great to be in Burdwan. I am even more happy that you invited me. BDS (Burdwan Sports Association) was asking me to come for a long time. It feels great to be here today," Ganguly was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
