Vijay Zol, former India U19 cricket team captain has been booked along with 20 other people, including his brother for kidnapping, extortion and riots after a complaint filed by a crypto currency investment manager on Tuesday, January 17.

Vijay Zol along with his brother Vikram Zol has been booked under the sections of the Indian Arms Act too. Later on Tuesday, a man filed a lawsuit against the investment manager accusing him of defrauding a number of investors out of several lakhs of rupees and engaging in a criminal conspiracy.

Speaking to the Times of India, Akash Shinde, Superintendent of Police, Jalna Police station said that,” We have registered two FIRs based on the complaints from both sides. We are verifying all claims and allegations mentioned in the FIRs and will take appropriate action."

The Times of India also approached the father of Vijay and Vikram in an attempt to delve deeper into the story and to understand their view on the allegation made against their two sons.

Vijay's father Bhausaheb Zol is a senior criminal lawyer and claimed that, “"My sons may have invested in the firm of the cryptocurrency investment manager but blaming them for kidnapping and extortion is absolutely wrong.”

It has been alleged that Vijay and Vikram went to Pune along with the other suspects and entered home of the investment manager, and kept him stranded in a hotel in Aurangabad(MH) city for ten days. Then they took him to their home in Jalna and confined him there. The investment manager stated in the FIR that the Zol brothers made an investment in his firm, and he guided them on the investment path.

Whilst, in the FIR against the investment manager, there are allegations that he has conned many people and procured several lakhs of rupees in the past.
