Former New Zealand player Corey Anderson finds place in USA's T20 World Cup squad

Former New Zealand cricketer, Corey Anderson has been inducted into the USA squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup. He has represented Kiwis in the ODI World Cup in 2015 and the T20 World Cup in 2014 and 2016. The United States of America and the West Indies are co-hosting the tournament. Anderson has been named in the squad of 15 players for the USA team. In addition to him, Ali Khan who has not played a T20I game since July 2022, has also been included in the team. Shayan Jahangir has also been brought in.
Two players, Gajanand Singh and Usman Rafiq, have been added to the squad who will play in upcoming games. The team that beat Canada 4-0 in a five-match T20I series in April will remain mostly unchanged. Monank Patel and Aaron Jones have retained their positions as captain and vice-captain respectively. In the previous series, Gajanand scored only one run in two matches while Rafiq gave away 24 runs in two overs in his only game.
Unmukt Chand snubbed from USA squad for T20 World Cup
Former captain of India's Under 19 cricket team, Unmukt Chand was not selected for the T20I series against Canada in April. This exclusion from the squad raised doubts over his chances of making it to the T20 World Cup. Unfortunately, Chand has now been excluded from the team. He had previously expressed disappointment after being left out of the Canada series and called for a change.
