Kolkata Knight Riders' mentor Gautam Gambhir has stepped forward to support the team's head coach, Chandrakant Pandit, after recent criticism of his coaching style. Former KKR all-rounder David Wiese had described Pandit's coaching approach as militant, suggesting that it may have caused frustration among some foreign players during last year's IPL season.
However, KKR's mentor and former captain Gambhir has firmly come out in support of Pandit, dismissing the criticism and backing the domestic coach's methods.
"I have not heard about any criticism. It's been early days, and my working relationship with him has been very good. Hopefully, it will continue that way. Whatever has been said, I have no clue about it," as quoted by Times Now.

Pandit, known for his no-nonsense attitude and success in domestic cricket, has been credited with transforming the fortunes of several Ranji Trophy teams over the years. It was this that convinced KKR to use his services for the top coaching job.
Gambhir acknowledged Pandit's impressive credentials, saying, "I think he has been pretty successful in first-class cricket, and that is the reason why he has got this opportunity. So far, it has been really good working with him," said Gambhir.
Backing Pandit's coaching methods, KKR's star senior all-rounder Andre Russell also shared similar thoughts. “We’ve been working with him since last year. I think when you're working with a coach for the first time, you have to make sure that you adjust to their philosophy. There have to be rules. We are professionals. So, we don't complain,” said Russell last month.
