GG Women Team 2023 Player List: Complete Gujarat Giants (GG) Squad and Players List for WPL 2023

All five franchises came fully prepared at Women’s Premier League 2023 auction to form a strong squad for the inaugural edition of the much-awaited tournament. Gujarat also came with their plans sorted and went after Ashleigh Gardner as their first bid. They faced tough competition from UP Warriorz and Mumbai Indians but eventually won the bid and roped in the star all rounder for INR 3.20 crore. 

After Gardner, Gujarat bid for Sophie Ecclestone but couldn’t win the bid. However, they were successful in buying the services of Australian wicketkeeper-batter, Beth Mooney, for a whopping INR 2 crore despite being in a bidding war with RCB and MI. 

Gujarat further got the services of Indian stars such as Harleen Deol, and Sneh Rana, for INR 40 lakh and INR 75 lakh, respectively. Furthermore, the most expensive franchise of the WPL, roped in Monica Patel and Mansi Joshi to bring variety to their bowling attack. 

Gujarat also bought allrounder Annabel Sutherland to bring stability to their squad. One of the best buys by the franchise was that of the West Indian all rounder Deandra Dottin. The Barbados-born cricketer has the capability to turn matches with both bat and ball and can prove to be a nightmare for the opposition. They bought her for INR 60 lakh after winning the bidding war against Delhi Capitals.

Gujarat Giants also bid for the uncapped player Tanuja Kanwar and got her services for INR 50 Lakh. She’s a left-arm medium bowler hailing from Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.

To reinforce their batting they bought Sophia Dunkley, Sabbhineni Meghana and Dayalan Hemalatha. Georgia Wareham was also roped in to strengthen the spin department of the team.
