India pacer, Umesh Yadav went unsold in the recently concluded Indian Premier League 2025 mega auctions. It is worth noting that, Umesh was picked by Gujarat Titans in 2024 mini auction for INR 5.80 crore. He played seven games and picked eight wickets at an average of 26.25 at an economy rate of 10. After being unsold in the IPL 2025 auction, the right-arm pacer revealed that he was ‘frustrated and disturbed’.

Umesh has played 148 games in the IPL so far and has represented four teams namely, Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans. However, the Vidarbha cricketer did not attract any bidders during the IPL 2025 Mega Auction held recently. The cricketer opened up on his feeling about remaining unsold for the eighteenth edition of the mega event.

“Everyone knows that I wasn’t selected for the IPL this year. I have been playing for 15 years. It (unsold at IPL 2025) is very shocking for me. Why should I lie? It feels bad. After playing so much and playing close to 150 IPL matches, you don’t get selected. It’s shocking. It’s upon the franchises and their strategies, or my name came late in the auction, and they weren't left with money. Regardless, something has happened. I am very frustrated and disturbed. But still, it’s okay. I can’t change anyone’s decision,” said Umesh as quoted by Inside Sport.
