With the Champions Trophy 2025 looming on the horizon and the tournament set to be held in Pakistan, there have been some issues with the Indian team’s travel to their neighbouring country. It was recently informed to the ICC that the Indian team will not be travelling to Pakistan due to the political tensions between the countries.

Recently, star India cricketer Suryakumar Yadav found himself right in the middle of controversy during the ongoing T20I series against South Africa. One of the fans asked Surya why he would not travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy.

Replying to the fans, Surya opined that it is not in his control. "Brother, it's not in our hands,” Surya said. The clip of the same has been going viral all over social media as well.

They must blame themselves: Aakash Chopra

The situation between India and Pakistan has been nothing new. In 2023, India refused to travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup, and played their games in Sri Lanka after the competition was played in a hybrid model. With the same being the case in the Champions Trophy, former India cricketer Aakash Chopra came forward and talked about India’s refusal to travel.

“It is decided and confirmed that India won’t be travelling to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, and it is not the BCCI’s decision. The Indian cricket team has no role in the latest outcome. The Men in Blue can play against Pakistan if the matches are held at neutral venues or in India, but when it comes to competing in the neighbouring country, the Indian government takes a call,” Chopra said in a video on his YouTube channel.

“BCCI has communicated to the ICC that they don’t have permission to play in Pakistan. India are not going to Pakistan and they must blame themselves. I read about a bomb blast at a railway station in Quetta, and Pakistan always gets involved in the issue of Kashmir,” he added.
