Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) president Faruque Ahmed recently came forward and confirmed that the board has received security assurance from the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) secretary Jay Shah for Bangladesh’s side for the upcoming tour to India.
It is worth noting that security concerns arose for Bangladesh after Hindu Mahasabha, a right-wing Hindu nationalist party, opposed the side’s travel to India.
"I have talked to Jay Shah and he has given us the assurance regarding security," Faruque Ahmed was quoted as saying by the Daily Star. Furthermore, the Hindu Mahasabha even recently threatened to stage protests in Kanpur if Bangladesh travelled to India.

The party’s vice president, Jaiveer Bharadwaj, also came forward and stated that the party would be opposing the first T20I of the three-match series in Gwalior on October 6.
Bangladesh to take on India in multi-format series
Speaking of the upcoming series, Bangladesh will tour India for a multi-format series. The series will begin with two Test matches, and both sides will then take on each other across three T20Is. The first Test of the series will be held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai from September 19.
Furthermore, the second Test will be held in Kanpur from September 27. After the two Tests, the T20I series will begin. The three games will be held on October 6, 9, and 12.
It is also worth noting that the Test series will be of utmost importance for both Bangladesh and India. Currently, India sits atop the World Test Championship standings; with nine Tests played, India have won six matches, lost two, and drawn one. The side has 74 points to its name and will hope to defeat Bangladesh across the two Tests and strengthen their position for the WTC final.
On the other hand, Bangladesh would be brimming with confidence. The side recently defeated Pakistan in a two-game Test series and currently sit in fourth place in the WTC standings with three wins and three losses in six matches.
