Matthew Hayden was in the commentary box for the match between CSK and DC in the IPL 2025. The former CSK player spoke about MS Dhoni's poor form and his inability to finish matches for his side in the ongoing season. The 2010 IPL winner gave his honest opinion and feels that Dhoni's time as a cricketer is up.
As Dhoni scored unbeaten 30 off 26, which included a four and a six each, Hayden blasted his former CSK skipper for not going after the chase. Despite the rising required run rate, Dhoni and Vijay Shankar could not accelerate. The Australian went onto say that Dhoni should join him in the commentary box.

MS Dhoni's performance in IPL 2025 so far
The CSK star has not had as good a season so far. Dhoni has scored 76 runs in four innings at a strike rate of 138.18, with a best score of 30*(16) this season.
Notably, his contributions have come mostly after CSK have been nearly out of the game or had little to no chances to win. In CSK's only victory of the season, against Mumbai Indians, Dhoni remained unbeaten on 0 after facing two balls. Against RCB, Dhoni scored 30*(16), when CSK needed 98 runs in the last 28 balls.
Against RR, the right-handed batter entered in the middle when 54 were needed in 25 balls and scored 16 (11). Against DC, he came in to bat when 110 runs were needed in 56 balls with him and Vijay Shankar being the last recognized pair. He made 30*(26) as the duo showed no intent to go after the target.
