Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra heaps praise on Gujarat Titans' (GT) opener Sai Sudharsan's performance in the ongoing IPL 2025. In the previous match against the Rajasthan Royals (RR), Sudharsan hit a blistering half-century in the first innings, taking the team to 217 runs. He scored a 53-ball 82-run knock, hitting eight boundaries and three sixes.

This was his fifth consecutive half-century at a single venue. He is in terrific form, smashing all around the ground. In most of the games, he has played an anchoring role, taking the team home. In some games, he has bashed the bowling attack.

Speaking about Sudharsan's performance on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra lauded the player for his responsible innings and the way he has been batting in the last few games. Moreover, Sudarshan is second in the Orange Cap list with 273 runs in five matches.

"Sai Sudharsan needs to be spoken about because he has scored five consecutive fifties at a single venue. He has equaled AB de Villiers. It also includes a hundred, which came last year against Chennai (Super Kings). The way he is batting, he is absolutely sensational. When you watch him drive, play the cut, flick, or pull, you feel what a player he is," said Aakash Chopra on his YouTube channel.

"He bats clean and is extremely elegant and technically compact. He is also one for the long haul and should play Tests and the longer format because his batting is pure," added Chopra.

Aakash Chopra hopes Sai Sudarshan to play Test match for India

The former batter analyzed Sudharsan's batting in the IPL and called him 'gold dust.' Because of the way Sudarshan has been playing this season, Chopra hoped that he would represent India in Test cricket someday.

"He doesn't look ungainly while playing unconventional shots. He is someone who is doing 360-degree batting without you feeling that he is that adventurous. Sai Sudharsan is absolutely gold dust. He is batting extremely well. Hopefully, one day, he will be playing Test cricket for India, which is what I am thinking," said Aakash Chopra.
