Australia managed to defeat India in the fourth Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. Throughout the five days of play, there were several moments from the game that went viral. One of the most viral moments from the game came when 19-year-old Sam Konstas made his debut.
Konstas put in an excellent performance in the first innings, scooping Jasprit Bumrah for sixes. The youngster scored 60 runs in 65 deliveries in the first innings, and talking about his performance, veteran batter Steve Smith came forward and branded Konstas as mad.
"He's mad. I think he really enjoyed himself under the lid there. He was chirping. I think at one point (Yashasvi) Jaiswal was actually trying to hit the ball at him to shut him up a bit. But look he's brought great energy (to the team). He's brought a real confidence, and it's nice to see him start so well in his first Test match, and I think he's got a bright future,” Smith told 7Cricket.
What an amazing Test match: Pat Cummins
Australia put in an excellent performance in the fourth Test of the series. Dominating the visitors, the Aussies have gained the advantage in the series and will hope to clinch it in the fifth and final Test. Talking about his side’s performance, skipper Pat Cummins took centre stage and expressed his admiration for the showing.
"What an amazing Test match, I reckon one of the best I've been part of," he says. "All week the crowd has been ridiculous, and it's been amazing to be part of. Marnus helped me out in that second innings big time, happy to contribute. Amazing innings from Steve, winning the toss, it wasn't easy on the first day, to get up to high 400s was terrific,” Cummins said in the post-match presentation ceremony.
