After an initial stutter, Mumbai Indians have finally come back to the winning ways as they have now won three matches on the trot and are occupying the sixth position on the IPL 2023 points table with a net run rate of -0.164. They recently won their third game of the ongoing season when they defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in the latter's backyard.

The game turned out to be a very memorable one for one of their newest family member in Cameron Green as he played a crucial knock to help Mumbai trump the Aiden Markram-led Sunrisers at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

The Aussie all-rounder scored an unbeaten 64 off just 40 balls, including six fours and two sixes. What helped Mumbai's cause is the fact that the 23-year-old scored his runs at an amazing strike rate of 160.

In addition to his batting exploits, Green also gave glimpses of his bowling potential as he dismissed Rohit Sharma's opposite number before he could cause some serious damage to Mumbai's chances of winning the game. In his four-over spell, Green just conceded 29 runs at 7.25 runs per over and was deservedly awarded the Player of the Match.

After the win, Green caught up with his schoolmate and teammate at Mumbai Indians in Tim David and the two had a friendly chat together.

"Hi, everyone. I'm here with your man of the match Cam Green. Can you talk us through it? Maybe the feeling of getting your first IPL 50 tonight," said David.

"Yeah. You know, it was great. yeah, obviously you kind of want to get that monkey off the back a little bit. Yeah, it's always nice to get the first another way," replied Green.

David also made an intriguing revelation that Green and he went to the same school in their childhood days and that Green's talent was there for everyone to see during the latter's schooling days.

"Some of you might not actually know that Greenie and I are actually went to the same school back in Australia. Greeny was a few years younger than me and, and maybe I'd, I'd left school.

"I might have been one or two years out and I used to come down coach in the morning before school and there was this little cheeky bugger. he wasn't as tall as he is now and he just used to smack me out. I had the side arm throwing at him. I used to try and bump him.

"I just couldn't get him out and look now here he is on the, on the IPL stage. He's obviously been doing it for Australia for a little while, but it's very exciting, so very proud of you mate. Well done," mentioned David.
