'He knows what will increase TRP, and says exactly those things' - Sourav Ganguly's wife Dona opens up about her husband

In a recent appearance on the popular Bengali television show 'Didi No. 1,' Dona Ganguly, the wife of former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly, made some sweet yet cheeky allegations about her childhood friend turned husband, Sourav. 

Sourav and Dona have been childhood friends and have now been married for over 25 years. On 'Dadagiri,' Sourav often shares anecdotes about their relationship.

This time it was his wife who candidly admitted that while some stories may be rooted in truth, others are strategically crafted for entertainment purposes, acknowledging Sourav's knack for knowing what appeals to the audience.

“He (Sourav) knows what will increase the TRP, and he says exactly those. Whatever he says, not all the things are true. But he knows what he has to say to satisfy the audience,” Dona was quoted as saying on the show.

Sourav often makes those choices for me: Dona Ganguly

Dona also addressed Sourav's protective and possessive nature. She revealed that Sourav often involves himself in decisions regarding her attire.

“Yes, he is very possessive. What Saree I will wear, and where should I wear it, he often makes those choices for me. Even the Saree I am wearing here is of his choice,” Dona shared, painting a picture of a relationship marked by mutual respect and affection.

Married since February 1997, Dona and Sourav have built a strong partnership over the years. Their daughter, Sana, is carving her path in the corporate world.

Ganguly is currently working as the Director of Cricket for the Delhi Capitals (DC). In the middle of his commitments with the Women’s Premier League (WPL) in Delhi, he is gearing up to join the Indian Premier League (IPL) fray, supporting Rishabh Pant & Co. in the upcoming edition.
