Former India cricketer and one of the most dangerous batters in cricket, Virender Sehwag, offered a unique piece of advice for the young Vaibhav Suryavanshi after the Rajasthan Royals' clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL 2025. Surprisingly, RR lost a match by 11 runs, which was well within their hands, even until the 18th over. Fortunately for RCB, they gained their first victory on their home ground, the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, 14, known for his explosive batting, started his IPL career against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by hitting a six on the very first ball. He announced his arrival in the cricket world by smashing a 20-ball 34 against LSG, hitting two boundaries and three huge sixes. He continued with his six-hitting strength against RCB as well. This time, the young cricketer went after the veteran bowler, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, pulling off two sixes before getting bowled by him.

While conversing to Cricbuzz, Sehwag advised the young player to stay grounded and not to lose concentration on the game. He mentioned several instances where the cricketers lost control over the game after playing in just one or two matches. "If you step out knowing that you will get praised for doing well and criticised for not doing well, you will remain grounded. I have seen many players who come, get fame from one or two matches, then they do not do anything, because they think that they have become a star player," said Sehwag.

The former player also mentioned that Suryavanshi should look to play for the next 20 years in the IPL, just like Virat Kohli did. He is pretty young now, and if he manages to keep himself fit and going, he can set many records in the upcoming years. Suryavanshi has shown much potential with the bat in his first two games, and now everything will depend on how he take things forward from here.

"Suryavanshi must aim to play 20 years in the IPL. Look at Virat Kohli, he started playing when he was 19 years old, now he has played all 18 seasons. That is what he should be trying to emulate. But, if he is happy with this IPL, thinking that he is now a crorepati, had a great debut, hit a six off the first ball, maybe we won't see him next year," added Sehwag.
