Arshdeep Singh has been one of India’s biggest strengths in the shortest format of the game. In the third T20I against South Africa in Centurion, the youngster surpassed Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar to become the second-leading wicket-taker for India in T20 internationals. He has 92 wickets to his name in the format as only Yuzvendra Chahal with 96 scalps is ahead of him.

Meanwhile, ahead of the third T20I, the Madhya Pradesh-born cricketer opened up about his partnership with Bumrah. The duo was phenomenal for the national team in the T20 World Cup 2024 as the Men in Blue went on to win their first ICC trophy in over a decade. Arshdeep has been consistent in the format and thanked Bumrah for guiding him and creating pressure from the other end to help him pick wickets.

“I have told this before as well: I have had a really good bowling partner in Jasprit Bhai. He has helped me enormously in taking wickets by creating pressure from the other end. Credit goes to him. And the main thing is how well I am able to adapt to the conditions and match situation is important. I look to attack the batters early, and in the death, I look to outsmart the batters and bring the game back towards us,” Arshdeep said to the broadcasters.

The 25-year-old also shared his mantra of success. The pacer revealed that he tries to enjoy both on and off the field and is learning more about mental and physical preparation by sharing the dressing room with some of the legends of the game.

“I just try to enjoy the present and have fun on the field and off the field. That's been my mantra. Playing along with some legends of the game and learning from them about mental and physical preparation... that's why I feel I have grown my game. I am trying to learn from wherever I can and do well for the team,” Arshdeep said.
