Fiery India pacer Jasprit Bumrah delivered one of his best spells in T20I cricket as he plucked Pakistan batters for fun in the T20 World Cup 2024 game on (Sunday) June 9. Bumrah was the game-changer as the pacer picked three crucial wickets conceding just 14 runs in four overs. The intriguing part of his onslaught was while defending the low-scoring target of 119, he bowled 15 dot balls and held a tight grip on the game.
After leading India to a memorable win at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, in New York, Bumrah’s latest ICC T20I ranking has got everyone gobsmacked. The right-arm pacer is ranked 111th in the latest ICC rankings. The development has left all his fans stunned as the India pacer won the Man of the Match for his match-defining performance against Pakistan. Bumrah, however, credited his performance to the energy carried out by Indian supporters in the stands.
“It feels really good. We felt we were a little under and the wicket got a little better after the sun came out. We were really disciplined so it feels good. Tried to hit the seam as much as I could, tried to be as clear as I could with my execution and it all came out well so I felt happy. Felt like we were playing in India, really happy with the support and that gives us energy on the field. We focus on the now. We’ve played two games and played really well. You stick to your processes and look to play well,” said Bumrah in the post-match presentation.

Pakistan reeling with two losses in as many games
Pakistan were dominating the game at the halfway stage as they bowled out Team India for just 119 runs. They were off to a great start as they had lost just one wicket at the end of the powerplay.
But the Men-In-Green succumbed to some brilliant bowling by Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel. With 18 needed off the final over, they fell short of six runs and are on the verge of getting ousted from the tournament.
