Veteran India skipper Rohit Sharma is undoubtedly one of the best batters in world cricket. Through his resilience and excellence, Rohit has managed to maintain himself and stay on top of his game for quite a few years now. Indian umpire Anil Chaudhary is also one among the millions of fans that the superstar cricketer has across the globe.

The match official recently came forward and heaped praise on Rohit as one of the best in the business. He praised Rohit’s excellent batting capabilities and revealed how much he enjoys watching Indian skipper bat. He also opined that the Mumbai batter is not as carefree as he looks.

Anil Chaudhary talked about the moment when Rohit scored his double century against Sri Lanka and how effortlessly he was hitting sixes. He revealed that the balls which would be yorkers to other batters were the same deliveries that he was hitting out of the park.

“He’s a naturally gifted batter, and has an excellent footwork and technique. He doesn’t get onto the front foot very early, and waits for the ball to come at him. He knows very well when to step down the track to play his shots. If you see his short arm pull, oh my god!” Anil said in an interview with Shubhankar Mishra on his YouTube channel.

“I remember in one match, I was the TV Umpire, and I think he scored a double hundred (talking about his 264 vs Sri Lanka). The way he was hitting sixes. For any other batter, it would be a yorker, and he was hitting the ball out of the ground effortlessly. The game was in Kolkata, he has a different class. But he has got an excellent idea about the swing as well. On his day, when he’s in full flow, he’s a one man army.” he added.

In recent times, Rohit has established himself as one of the all-time greats. He led India to the finals of the World Test Championship, and the ODI World Cup 2023. Furthermore, and under his leadership, India won the T20 World Cup 2024 as well.
