Ahead of the upcoming five-game series against India, ace England fast bowler, Ollie Robinson, has shed light on their game plan to tackle the formidable Indian team. The opening Test is scheduled to take place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on January 25, Thursday. Meanwhile, Visakhapatnam, Rajkot, Ranchi, and Dharamshala, respectively, host the last four games.

England look to formulate detailed plans, and their bowlers to execute a range of tactics with the target of hindering Virat Kohli's batting and restraining the India batter from showcasing his full potential on the field. Robinson has pointed out Kohli's substantial ego, predicting his impressive display in the upcoming series. It is worth noting that the 30-year-old Englishman had successfully dismissed the flamboyant India batter three times during India's tour of England in 2021. He is optimistic about replicating his success and securing crucial wickets in the upcoming tour as well.

"You always want to play against the best players, don't you? And you always want to get the best players out. Kohli is one of those. He's got a big ego and I think playing on that, especially in India, where he is going to want to dominate and score runs, playing on the fact we've had battles in the past, is exciting," Robinson told ESPNCricinfo.

"If I can have a big tour in India, then it should set me up for a while. If I do well, I can cement myself back in the team," the 30-year-old pacer added.

The upcoming series holds significant importance for Rohit Sharma and Co., as they face a formidable challenge from Ben Stokes' men with their aggressive Bazball approach. Kohli, displaying good form in recent times and delivering crucial innings in the South Africa series under challenging batting conditions, is poised to play a pivotal role for the hosts in the forthcoming series. Recognizing his stellar performance, the former India captain has returned to the top 10 rankings in Test cricket, currently holding the sixth position.
