The Qualifier 2 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 featured a clash between the Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans and the five-time champions Mumbai Indians at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday, May 26. Winning the game by 62 runs, Gujarat Titans qualified for their second IPL final in two years.

Coming in to bat first, Gujarat posted a mammoth 233 runs on the board, and it was thanks to a brilliant innings by star Indian batter Shubman Gill that Gujarat were able to notch up a huge total and ultimately win the game as well. The 23-year-old scored his third century of the IPL 2023, amassing 129 runs in 60 deliveries.

As news of Gill’s brilliant knock captured every headline, Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya came forward to laud his performances. Heaping massive praise on the 23-year-old, Pandya opined that the Indian batter has made a habit of scoring centuries and is making it look like breakfast.

"He’s making a habit of scoring hundred, and he’s making it look like it’s just breakfast for him. What I saw today was one of the finest I have ever seen. Every time we saw that 55 balls, we were like, that’s a hell of a shot. Very very very proud of him, I get scared seeing him bat that much," Pandya said in the post-match presentation.

Both sides lock horns at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Both Chennai and Gujarat faced each other in Qualifier 1 of the tournament on May 23, where the MS Dhoni-led side emerged victorious by 15 runs as they became the first side to make its way into the IPL 2023 final.
