Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali slammed Yashasvi Jaiswal after a series of poor performances in the ongoing IPL 2025. On his YouTube channel, he highlighted that the southpaw 'isn't focusing on cricket'. The former player also gave an example of Prithvi Shaw and what happened to him after being successful for few years.

Jaiswal is having a poor season by his standards, as he has scored just 107 runs in five matches at an average of 21.40. The start of the tournament hasn't been great for the 23-year-old player who once ruled the format and the league. Rajasthan Royals (RR) have been struggling to set up the opening partnership this season.

On one hand, Sanju Samson has been in great form. He has performed consistently, scoring runs and helping the team set good totals on the board. Despite all efforts, RR are struggling to win games. In the previous game against the Gujarat Titans, the Rajasthan-based team lost by 58 runs.

"His stomach has filled. Jaiswal isn't focusing on cricket. This is my open message: Cricket can make you cry a lot. Look at Prithvi Shaw. Love cricket and bring passion," said Basit Ali on his YouTube channel.

Basit Ali opines on Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma's retirement from T20s

The Indian stalwarts Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma announced their retirement from T20I cricket after the T20 World Cup 2024. According to Basit Ali, they did the right thing by stepping away since India have a lot of players to fill their shoes. There are a lot of young cricketers who are performing brilliantly in the T20 format and deserve a place in the team.

"Rohit and Virat made the right decision to retire. I felt Virat shouldn't have retired, but it was the right decision. India has a lot of players," added Basit Ali.
