The WPL 2025 final will witness Harmanpreet Kaur's Mumbai Indians Women taking on the Delhi Capitals at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on March 15. Star all-rounder Hayley Matthews is full of confidence, hoping to recreate the magic of 2023 when Mumbai defeated Delhi to lift the inaugural trophy.

In their game against Gujarat, they had a slow start in the powerplay, however, Matthews (77 off 50) and Nat Sciver-Brunt (77 off 41) guided their side to a strong total of 213/4. Harmanpreet, with her fiery cameo of 36 off just 12 at the end, helped the side by putting the highest-ever total in a WPL knockout fixture.

In reply, Gujarat never looked in the run-chase, as they succumbed to under scoreboard pressure and were eventually bowled out for 166. Matthews played a crucial role with the ball as well, picking up 3 wickets for 31 runs and won the Player of the Match award. The West Indies all-rounder mentioned the team’s bond and camaraderie going into the blockbuster final and mentioned how their chemistry off the field has gotten them success on the field.

"I absolutely love being part of Mumbai Indians! Winning the title in the first season was incredible, and the team has always had a fantastic vibe. Last year, we fell short of making the finals, but it’s great to be back in the squad and competing at a high level again this season. Everyone has been contributing to the team’s success, and beyond that, the camaraderie off the field makes it even more special. The way we gel as a team and enjoy each other’s company truly makes this group amazing to be part of," she said on JioHotstar's Cricket Live.
