The Indian Premier League is arguably the most entertaining cricketing league in the world as it brings together two of the glamorous industries of India i.e. cricket and Bollywood. Few of the IPL franchises are owned by Bollywood superstars who are seen having fun with their teams during their time away from the field.

One of the most loved celebrities among IPL owners is actor Preity Zinta, the owner of the Punjab Kings (formerly known as Kings XI Punjab). Recently, the actress revealed an incident from the 2009 edition of IPL, when she had to make 120 aloo parathas for her team as per her promise.

"First time I realised, how much do the boys eat. We were in South Africa, and they served not a good all parantha. Then I told them, 'I will teach you to make all paratha'. Seeing that, the boys asked if I can make all parathas for them. I told them that, will make aloo parathas if they win the next match. They won it. Then I made 120 aloo parathas. After that I have stopped making aloo parathas," Zinta hilariously revealed on Star Sports.

Despite being one of the most popular IPL franchises, Punjab Kings have never been able to win an IPL title. Their best-ever performance came in 2014 when they finished as runner-ups, losing to Kolkata Knight Riders in the final.

PBKS lost to LSG by 57 runs in their last IPL 2023 fixture

Meanwhile, PBKS  are ranked on the sixth spot in the points table in the ongoing IPL 2023 with four wins in eight matches. In their last fixture against Lucknow Super Giants, Punjab leaked the second-highest total in IPL history as LSG scored 257/5 batting first.

In reply, PBKS batters showed great heart but were bundled out for 201 in 19.5 overs, handing a 56-run victory to LSG. They will next face Chennai Super Kings on Sunday, April 30 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
