Australia speedster Mitchell Starc and England captain Jos Buttler got engaged in an on-field argument during the third T20I at Manuka Oval in Canberra on Friday, October 14.

England’s hopes of pulling off a clean sweep in the series against the Aussies were dashed as the match was abandoned due to rain. However, England claimed the series 2-0 with some impressive performances ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022.

England skipper Buttler smashed a sensational 41-ball 65* after the visitors were asked to bat by the Aaron Finch-led Australia. During the innings, the England skipper got engaged in an interesting conversation with Mitchell Starc that led to a fiery exchange of words.

Mitchell Starc warns Buttler over leaving non-striker's end

On the fourth delivery of the fifth over during England's innings, Starc showed great awareness by spotting Buttler leaving his crease early. Soon after he spotted the English skipper leaving the crease, Starc immediately warned him to stop doing so.

However, Buttler denied the speedster’s claim and told that he had not left the crease.

"I am not Deepti, but I might do it," said the Australian pacer. To which, Buttler replied- "I don't think I did."

Starc warned Buttler by referring to the controversial run out involving Deepti Sharma and England's Charlie Dean during the third ODI at Lord's last month in September. Running out a player at the non-striker’s end is very much a part of the MCC Laws, yet, Deepti's act sparked off a massive debate in the cricketing fraternity.

England and defending champions Australia will again lock horns in the forthcoming T20 World Cup as the two are placed in the same group. After the series loss, the Aussies will look to bring back momentum swiftly during the warm-up matches just prior to the mega event.
