‘I am still a 22-year-old boy’ - Mohammad Haris opens up on comparisons with Suryakumar Yadav
“Surya has his own level, De Villiers had his own level, I am my own level well. I want to make a name for myself as a 360-degree cricketer, not use theirs,” Haris said.

Suryakumar Yadav has been often hailed as the new ‘Mr. 360’ in white-ball cricket. Pakistan’s wicketkeeper Mohammed Haris, who is currently captaining Pakistan's A side in the Emerging Teams Asia Cup, is often termed 'Pakistan’s Suryakumar Yadav'. Haris recently commented on his batting style and on his comparison with star Indian batter.
Interestingly, Pakistan's next match is against arch-rivals India as both sides will face each other after winning back-to-back games in the tournament. The Mohammad Haris-led side won their last match against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) A side by 184 runs. while Yash Dhull-led India are coming off a win against Nepal A by nine wickets.
Half-centuries for Saim Ayub, Sahibzada Farhan, Kamran Ghulam and Mohammad Haris 👏

“We shouldn’t compare between the two of us just yet, Surya is 32-33 years old, I am still a 22-year-old boy. To reach that stage I still have to put that work in,” said Haris while speaking to the PAK TV channel.
“Surya has his own level, De Villiers had his own level, I am my own level well. I want to make a name for myself as a 360-degree cricketer, not use theirs,” he further added.
Apart from Yadav, Haris is also compared with AB de Villiers for his shot-making ability; in the current contest, the 22-year Pakistan batter scored 55 runs with a strike over 110 to take his side past the 300-run mark. M. Haris has also represented Pakistan’s senior side in nine T20Is and five ODIs.
“He has his own cricket and I have mine. If I practice, I could become better than him, and if I don’t, I will remain below him,” concluded Pakistan's A skipper.
The much-awaited clash between India and Pakistan will take place on July 19 in Colombo. Pakistan have a good bowling attack with Mohammad Wasim and Shahnawaz Dahani while India will back their star-studded batting unit with the likes of Dhruv Jurel, Sai Sudharasan and skipper Dhull. Both teams have already qualified for the next round, but they will look to win the upcoming game to finish at the top of the table.
