England opener Ben Duckett was slammed by legendary West Indies batter Chris Gayle for his remarks on India's batting sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal. Gayle claimed that attacking cricket has been played for years after Duckett had suggested that Bazball should take the credit for Jaiswal's performance in the Test series, given his double hundred in Rajkot. The young India opener was particularly impressive as he hit consecutive double-hundreds against the Ben Stokes-led side, which helped India win in Rajkot and Vizag.
Gayle acknowledged that aggressive cricket has been played for a long time and gave tribute to players like Brian Lara and Viv Richards for laying the groundwork for him and other West Indian batters. Notably, the 44-year-old is renowned for his aggressive batting style.

“Attacking cricket has been played for years, even before Chris Gayle actually set foot on the international scene as well. We had the likes of Viv Richards, those guys set it up for us. Brian Lara, those guys are attacking players in all formats as well. When you actually check their stats, do check how they went about their innings,” Gayle told AFP.
He continued by claiming that Jaiswal did not pick up attacking cricket from England. Jaiswal has amassed over 500 runs in the first three Test matches against the tourists and is expected to help India win the series in Ranchi.
“I don't think he (Jaiswal) learned it from England. That style of play he developed with his coach and mentor (Jwala Singh). He's just phenomenal. It's like the guy has been playing for 20 years, unbelievable. I just hope he can keep it up.
“A lot will be expected of him as he goes on but they should just let him continue to flow. He's an attacking player, you see that in his T20 cricket as well. That's in his nature as well and they shouldn't try to curb him or try to change him,” Gayle added.
