Ravindra Jadeja is one of the premier all-rounders of the Indian team. The southpaw announced his retirement from the T20Is after the T20 World Cup 2024 win and has been an integral part of the Test and ODI teams. Jadeja is known to provide minimal breathing space for the batters in between the deliveries when he comes to bowl, but he has been a point of concern for Australia batter, Steve Smith for different reasons.
Smith, who is quite animated at the crease, revealed that he gets intimidated by Jadeja just because of his sheer excellence on the field. The left-arm spinner is mercurial in bowling and agile while donning the fielder role. Smith highlighted the complete package side of Jadeja and admitted to getting annoyed by him on the field.
"I get annoyed by Jadeja on the field, just because he is a very good player. He always finds a way to get in the battle, whether it is scoring runs, taking wickets, or making a great catch. It can be a bit annoying at times, but he's a very good player,” said Smith speaking to Star Sports.

Smith’s observation was seconded by Australia pacer, Josh Hazlewood, who was asked the same question and he said “Jadeja again”.
For the unversed, India will be taking on Australia in the five-match Test series, part of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The first test of India’s tour down under will be played at the Optus Stadium in Perth on November 22. It is worth noting that India defeated the touring Australian team in 2023 by 2-1 and are defending the renowned trophy.
