'I have no relation of any kind with Ravi or his wife Rivaba Jadeja' - Ravindra Jadeja's father opens up on abandoned relationship with son
“Let me tell you the truth, I have no relation of any kind with Ravi (Ravindra Jadeja) or his wife Rivaba Jadeja," said Anirudh Jadeja.
In an extremely critical exchange, Anirudh Singh Jadeja, father of renowned Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, lamented the strained ties with his son and daughter-in-law, Rivaba Jadeja. He highlighted the rift emerging post Ravindra's marriage, leading to their physical distance. Anirudh now resides apart from his son, and expressed poignant feelings about the family's altered dynamics, hinting at a growing emotional chasm within the Jadeja household.
“Let me tell you the truth, I have no relation of any kind with Ravi (Ravindra Jadeja) or his wife Rivaba Jadeja. We don’t call them, and they don’t call us. Controversies started happening only after two-three months of Ravi’s marriage. At present, I live alone in Jamnagar, Ravindra lives separately,” Anirudh Singh Jadeja said as quoted by Dainik Bhaskar.
“Don’t know what magic the wife has cast on him. He is my son, my heart burns to ashes. It would have been better if he had not got married. It would have been better if he had not become a cricketer. We would not have been in this situation,” he added.
I used to carry 20-litre milk cans on my shoulder to earn money: Anirudh Jadeja
In the heart of Jamnagar, Ravindra Jadeja resides in a luxurious four-storey mansion, while his father, Anirudh Singh, lives humbly in their old 2BHK flat, mere miles away. Anirudh Singh revealed the sacrifices made by himself and his daughter, including taking up odd jobs like that of a watchman, to support Ravindra's cricketing aspirations. Sadly, he expressed disappointment over the estrangement from his son, implying a palpable disconnect between them.
"I have some land in my village. I manage my expenses from the ₹20,000 pension of my wife. I live alone in a 2BHK flat. I have a house-help who cooks for me. I am living my life on my own terms. Even in my 2BHK flat, there is still a separate room for Ravindra. We have worked very hard to make Ravindra a cricketer. I used to carry 20-litre milk cans on my shoulder to earn money. I have even worked as a watchman. We come from a humble background. His sister has done even more than me. She took care of him as a mother. However, he hasn't kept any relations with his sister either,” he concluded.
