Shreyanka Patil didn't find any takers in the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) 2024 drafts. The talented youngster said that she was disappointed but acknowledged that she needed to improve her batting skills to become a top-notch all-rounder.
Shreyanka has been one of the brightest talents coming out of the Women's Premier League (WPL). In the inaugural edition in 2023, she impressed fans as well as experts with her batting exploits, finishing the tournament with a strike rate of 151.22. However, she has made a name for herself more as a reliable off-spinner after WPL 2023. This year, she didn't get too many opportunities to showcase her batting prowess but finished as the highest wicket-taker, bagging 13 wickets in eight matches at 12.08 in Royal Challengers Bengaluru's title-winning campaign.
“I am very happy for the six Indians who got selected and wish them good luck. I am a little disappointed, yes, but I know what areas I must work on. I must work on my batting, and I am going to be the best all-rounder,” Shreyanka told India Today on the sidelines of a promotional event.
