Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad talked about MS Dhoni during the pre-match press conference for their clash between CSK and Mumbai Indians (MI) on Sunday, March 23. The young skipper spoke about how the former five-time IPL-winning skipper has been keeping himself fit during the training camps and preparations for the tournament.
Though MS Dhoni might not be leading the side anymore it seems like he has put a lot of trust in Gaikwad and the 28-year-old top-order batter has also shown a lot of admiration for him. While talking about his fitness standards Gaikwad openly stated that though Dhoni's training might be slightly limited he has not looked out of shape since the first day of training. Gaikwad also gave an example of Sachin Tendulkar who is also actively participating in former cricketers' tournaments at the age of 51.
“I think his training is very much limited to whatever he tries to achieve. Or whatever his role would be in the IPL. So, it is pretty much very simple, focused on trying to hit as much as sixes as possible and trying to get the right swing, trying to be in the best shape," Gaikwad said.

“That is what I think initially he was trying to do. And then I never thought he was out of shape even on the first day. So, I think obviously he is special - he's done it for so many years. If you see now even Sachin Tendulkar is batting as great as he is right even now at the age of 50 [51]. So, I think still many years to go," Gaikwad added.
Speaking of the match between MI and CSK, it is set to be played at the Chepauk (M. A. Chidambaram Stadium). This will be the 38th match between the rivals who will also be looking to achieve a record-breaking sixth title this season.
