The third Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 ended in a draw. Both Australia and India locked horns at the Gabba in Brisbane after the series score was levelled with India winning the first Test and Australia winning the second.
With three Tests done with, there have been many performances so far from the series that have stood out. Most of which have been the performances of ace batter Travis Head. Proving to be a nightmare for the Indian team, Head has been in exceptional form so far.
However, with brilliant knocks, Head failed to go big in the second innings in Brisbane. The commentators also pointed out that Head had some potential groin issues while running between the wickets. Talking about the same, Head reflected on his injury situation and revealed that it is nothing to worry about.
"Very pleased with the way I am batting at the moment. Just a little sore, but I should be fine (before the next game),” Head said in the post-match presentation ceremony.
Challenging wicket: Head
After a knock of 152 runs in the first innings, Travis Head was dismissed on a score of 17 in the second innings. Talking about the nature of the pitch, Head opined that it was a challenging wicket and that he was happy about his partnership with Steve Smith in the first innings.
"Challenging wicket. I had to work through the gears. I had different plans, pleased I could get through those. Good partnership with (Steve) Smith. Just try to sum up the conditions well. What I've done well this series is assess the conditions. Pleased with the tempo I've batted with. Pretty relaxed communication. Felt like he was back in his rhythm, and he gives me full freedom and confidence knowing he's going to be there for a long while. I feel like I am playing the situation in front of me,” Head added.
