'I still don't understand why' - Singer Rahul Vaidya reacts to being blocked by Virat Kohli on Instagram

Popular singer Rahul Vaidya, who became second runner-up in the inaugural season of Indian Idol in 2004, recently shared his views about being blocked on Instagram by the legendary Virat Kohli. The 37-year-old expressed his confusion regarding the situation as he said that he had no clue as to why he was blocked by the former India captain.

Kohli's fondness for music is well known and the 37-year-old has also given his fans a glimpse of his singing prowess during some of his interviews which are watched and re-watched to this day.

"Aaj tak samajh mein nahi aaya, bhai ne block kyun kiya," Vaidya replied when he was asked by the paparazzi about why Kohli severed ties with him on the sought-after social media platform.

For the unversed, Vaidya also featured in the popular reality show Big Boss in season 14 and finished runner-up. He got married to actress Disha Parmar in 2021. Apart from being a singer, Vaidya has also tried his hand at composing music and given some chartbuster tracks to fans in recent years.

Meanwhile, Kohli and wife Anushka Sharma celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary on December 11. According to reports, the couple are making preparations to settle in London with their children, Vamika and Akaay.

On the career front, Kohli is currently in Australia as he is representing Rohit Sharma-led India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The 36-year-old has not been in great form in the red-ball circuit as he has a paltry average of 25.06 in 2024.

In the first three games, the right-handed batter has only managed to score 126 runs against the World Test Champions. This included a century in the second innings of the first Test at the Optus Stadium in Perth. The five-match series is intriguingly poised at 1-1 as the action shifts to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) for the fourth Test. With important World Test Championship (WTC) points at stake, both teams will look to go for the jugular at the iconic venue.
