Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan recently expressed his views on being made MI Cape Town skipper in SA20 scheduled to commence on January 10. Recently, Rashid Khan left Adelaide Strikers in the ongoing Big Bash League taking place in Australia midway to join MI Cape Town in South Africa for the commencement of the SA20.

He expressed his happiness on being appointed as skipper and also exuded confidence in stating that there was no captaincy pressure on him and that he would, on the contrary, look to use this new role as an opportunity to mature as a cricketer.

"I think the experience of being vice-captain in the IPL for Gujarat (Gujarat Titans) has been good and that has helped me as a player as well. It is just about you making sure you enjoy your cricket and you can only give hundred percent and what capability you have, you just need to focus on that. So, I feel like there won't be any pressure, there is excitement that lot of things will be there that I can learn as a captain and that will make me better cricketer as well so, just looking forward to that,” explained Khan in the press conference ahead of the commencement of the league.

David Miller rest assured for quality experience to his squad

On the other hand, Paarl Royals skipper David Miller believes having the services of two World Cup-winning captains in Jos Buttler and Eoin Morgan is a privilege for his team. Paarl Royals and MI Cape Town are set to lock horns in the opening fixture of SA20 on January 10.

“We are privileged to have Eoin Morgan and Jos Buttler along with a very experienced coach and lot of exciting young players. So, that probably is the trick to try and get the guys together as quick as possible. But I think once the first game sort of kicks off and the tournament is under way, guys will kind of fall into line and just sort of find the rhythm of the team. But it is always a challenge to try and get it run together but we have had enough days to try and do that so, the guys are in great spirits and training very hard,” Miller said.
