Yograj Singh is often in the news for his blunt takes on some of India's finest captains like Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni. The former India cricketer recently revealed a shocking incident when he went to Kapil's residence with a pistol as he believed that the Haryana all-rounder played a role in dropping him from the national team.
Yograj, who played one Test and six ODIs for India, said that he wanted to kill Kapil for dropping him from the national team. However, the former decided against it after seeing Kapil's mother by his side. Yograj said that it was then that he decided that he would make his son, Yuvraj Singh, a cricketer.
“When Kapil Dev became captain of India, North Zone, and Haryana, he dropped me for no reason. My wife (Yuvi’s mother) wanted me to ask Kapil questions. I told her that I would teach this bloody man a lesson," Yograj told 'Unfiltered by Samdish' via Indian Express.
“I took my pistol out, I went to Kapil’s house in Sector 9. He came out with his mother. I abused him a dozen times. I told him because of you I have lost a friend and what you have done, you will pay for it. I told him, ‘I want to put a bullet through your head, but I am not doing it because you have a very pious mother, who is standing here.’ I told Shabnam, ‘Let’s go.’ That was the moment I decided I would not play cricket, Yuvi will play,” he added.
I never forgave Bishan Singh Bedi: Yograj Singh
Yograj claimed that Bishan Singh Bedi and Kapil joined hands and plotted against him because he had a close association with the former captain Sunil Gavaskar.
“These guys, including Bishan Singh Bedi, they plotted against me. I never forgave Bishan Singh Bedi. The man died on his bed. When I was dropped, I spoke to Ravindra Chadha, one of the selectors. He told me that Bishan Singh Bedi (the chief selector) didn’t want to pick me because they thought I was Sunil Gavaskar’s man and because I was playing cricket in Mumbai. I was very close to Gavaskar," Yograj said.

Yograj went on to say that he had shared a WhatsApp message with Kapil when India won the ODI World Cup in 2011 after a gap of 28 years.
"In 2011 when India won the World Cup, there was only one guy who was crying, and it was Kapil Dev. I did send him a paper cutting that my son did better than you in the World Cup. Kapil sent me a WhatsApp text saying we will be brothers in the next life. We will be born from the same mother in the next life. He wanted to meet me. But there is a vengeance, and it still hurts,” he added.
Yuvraj won the Player of the Tournament award after scoring 362 runs in eight innings and picking up 15 wickets.
Never give power to women because they will destroy everything around: Yograj Singh
Meanwhile, on the same show, Yograj expressed a controversial and misogynistic view, raising eyebrows aplenty.
"Just ask a woman to run a house and she will spoil it. Never give power to women. Give them love, respect and honour but never power. [If given power] they will destroy everything. They are very hungry [for power]. I have seen mothers and ladies, when you give them power, they hold everything for themselves," Yograj said.
