Hardik Pandya is one of the most sought-after cricketers in the Indian circuit and it is no surprise as there aren't too many all-rounders like him who can bowl over 140 kmph and also smash the ball with the bat ferociously.

When Mumbai Indians picked Pandya in the 2015 auction, he went at his base price of Rs 10 lakh. Over the years, he showed his awe-inspiring skills with bat and ball and became an integral part of India's white-ball setup. Ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, the all-rounder was roped in by Gujarat Titans for INR 15 crore.

The 29-year-old is one of the richest cricketers among the current Indian players. However, things were not always rosy on the financial front for him. Hardik recently revealed how he used to survive by eating Maggi two times a day. The Choryasi-born cricketer said that his family's financial condition took a beating after his late father, who was the only earning member of the family, suffered a series of heart attacks within a few months.

"My diet used to be Maggi. I was a fan of it and even the situation demanded so. I actually used to eat Maggi day and night," Pandya was quoted as saying by MyKhel.

"My father was the only earning person at home. He suffered a heart attack - not one but two and that too within one night. He almost got another attack six months later, but we were glad we reached the hospital in time. The financial problems started at that time... we had no savings and perhaps we spent more than what we earned," he added.

Maggi should consider making Hardik their brand ambassador: Krunal Pandya

Krunal Pandya, Hardik's elder brother, has played 24 international games for India and represents Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL. The southpaw said that nobody has eaten more Maggi than his younger brother and suggested that the popular brand should rope him in as their brand ambassador. In fact, the decision-makers at Maggi heard this and sent a box filled with its popular product to the younger Pandya brother.

"Maggi should consider making Hardik their brand ambassador. The amount of Maggi he has eaten no one else in India would have eaten as much," Krunal said.
