'If you take Bumrah down, that means you are back' - Aakash Chopra lauds Karun Nair's performance vs MI

Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra applauded Delhi Capitals' (DC) Karun Nair for an amazing performance in the previous game against Mumbai Indians (MI). Nair marked his return to the IPL by scoring a blistering 40-ball 89-run knock. He hit 12 boundaries and five sixes and was unstoppable at one point. 

The highlight of the game was Nair going after Jasprit Bumrah in the match. The batter came back to playing in the IPL after a gap of three years and proved to the world how good of a batter he is. Despite his brilliant performance, DC lost the game by 12 runs. The middle order failed to continue with the momentum, leading to their first defeat in this edition. 

In his YouTube video, Aakash Chopra mentioned that Nair is a brilliant batter and has made a solid comeback in the tournament which can be gauged by how he targeted Jasprit Bumrah. Going after Bumrah isn't an easy job, as he hit 18 runs off the MI pacer's sixth over. 

"Karun Nair is back. If you take Bumrah down, that means you are back. Nothing can be better than that. Mumbai won, but the biggest story is Karun Nair. He had tweeted in 2022 - 'Dear cricket, give me one more chance.' You don't get a second chance just like that. However, cricket said it would test him but eventually give him something. He got dropped by Karnataka and had almost left cricket. However, he shifted to Vidarbha. He didn't score runs in the first year, but this year, he scored nine centuries across three formats," said Aakash Chopra.

The key takeaway for DC was Nair's performance in the match. Apart from that, DC's batting and bowling weren't that impressive in the game. They lost their home game but will surely learn a lot and must implement it in the upcoming game.
