Barbadian cricketer Dominic Drakes suffered a facial blow after taking a spectacular diving catch for Gulf Giants in the ongoing International League T20 match against Sharjah Warriors at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah. He was rushed to the hospital with an ambulance on a stretcher.
Drakes took a brilliant catch in the sixth over to dismiss Sharjah skipper Moeen Ali of Carlos Brathwaite. While taking a catch, he hit his face to the ground leading to an facial/head injury, constituting an emergency to take him to the hospital. Moeen got out scoring just one run with the scoreboard 44 for 3. The Warriors have been struggling with the bat so far losing seven wickets for just 67 runs.

David Wiese has been brilliant with the ball so far in the ongoing game between Sharjah Warriors and Gulf Giants picking up four wickets off his two overs and conceding just seven runs. Meanwhile, Sanchit Sharma, Tom Helm, and Carlos Brathwaite picked up a wicket each. Tom Kohler-Cadmore was the highest scorer for Sharjah, scoring 32 runs off 19 balls, with six fours and a maximum.
