'I’m happy with the 55 Lakhs I get in KKR' - Rinku Singh wins hearts with humble answer over pay parity

Rinku Singh became a household name after he smashed Yash Dayal for five consecutive sixes to win the game for Kolkata Knight Riders. The Southpaw became synonymous with fearlessness and hard-hitting and he continued the same months after he was picked for the Indian team. In a gesture toward his allegiance to KKR, the youngster has shown contentment with the money he gets irrespective of what he earns.
Rinku became the go-to man for KKR down the order and the 26-year-old is mostly seen as someone who could finish the game for the team. He even donated 50 Lakh rupees to build a sports hostel for underprivileged cricketers. He was asked about the IPL salary he gets which is lesser than some other key players, and the cricketer replied that he is satisfied with a 55 Lakh contract.

“I’m happy with the 55 Lakhs I get in KKR. It’s a lot of money,” said Rinku as quoted by The Cricket Lounge.

Besides IPL salary, Rinku holds the C Grade contract with the Indian team and BCCI provides him with 1 crore per annum as salary. Moreover, the Uttar Pradesh batter is one of the few Indian cricketers to become the brand ambassador of Boost, a health drink. He is also the brand ambassador of the online gaming platform, My11Circle. His brand sponsorship includes the giants like SG, MRF, and CEAT.
The hard-hitter once said that the IPL salary would do good to him any day as coming from a small town in Aligarh, to get 5 to 10 rupees was a big task. Thanks to his association with a big IPL franchise and eventually the Indian cricket team, the cricketer bought a 200-yard plot in the area of Ozon City, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. He also bought a 100-acre land in the same area.
