Team India star all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja, picked up a seven-for as India dominate Australia in the ongoing second Test. The two cricketing powerhouses have locked horns in the second of the four-match test series at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
After India concluded their batting innings with 262, trailing by just a run, the visitors began the third innings with the agenda to set a competitive target. However, what followed was an utter capitulation as the India duo spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja landed multiple blows as the two picked nine wickets between them.
Jadeja, who has been relishing a tremendous comeback since the Nagpur Test, has yet again decked up the rival line-up to put India ahead in the contest. Notably, the Aussies started Day 3 with a lead of 62 runs on the board with the loss of a wicket.
After Ashwin drew first blood on Day 3 picking the vital scalp of Travis Head, Jadeja then shifted gears and landed multiple strikes as he got seven wickets to his name in the innings. This included the star all-rounder bamboozling the likes of Marnus Labuschagne, Alex Carey, Pat Cummins, Nathan Lyon, and Matthew Kuhnemann, all of whom were knocked over.
India on the cusp of cementing WTC final berth
As India begin their run chase of a paltry 115 runs, Rohit and Co. will look to conclude the contest swiftly on Day 4. With this India would take a domineering 2-0 lead in the series and inch closer to making a place in the summit clash of the ICC World Test Championship 2021-23 cycle.
It is worth mentioning that the Aussies too are in contention for a spot in the finals of the global ICC event. However, their back-to-back wins in the longest format against West Indies and South Africa comes to a screeching halt against India. With a target of 115 runs set on the board, the Aussies will look to fight hard and give the Indian side a run for their money.
