India and Australia faced each other in the first of the three-match T20I series in Mohali on Tuesday. It turned out to be a high-scoring encounter with the hosts smashing 208 runs in their 20 overs thanks to a stunning 71* from Hardik Pandya off just 30 balls. However, Australia also came out hard and their new opener Cameron Green went all guns blazing from the word go.

The all-rounder started off well smashing Umesh Yadav for four fours off his first four deliveries. Green was opening the innings for the first time and it didn't seem like he was nervous. Interestingly, luck also favoured him in the fifth over of the innings.

Yuzvendra Chahal was introduced into the attack and off the third delivery of the over, Green moved inside the line to play the sweep shot only for the ball to hit his pads. There was no appeal whatsoever from the Indian contingent. Perhaps, there was not even a query to the umpire and much to everyone's surprise, the hawkeye showed the ball to be hitting the stumps.

When the same was shown on the big screen, even the Indian players were surprised and seen looking at each other realising a missed chance to get a crucial wicket.

Axar Patel dropped Cameron Green as well

To make things worse for India, Axar Patel also dropped Cameron Green in the eighth over of the innings. Riding on his luck, Green ended up smashing a 26-ball fifty before being dismissed on 61 off just 30 deliveries. He smacked eight fours and four sixes during his stay in the middle leaving Australia in a strong position in the steep chase of 209 runs.

It was Axar Patel who ended up having redemption after dropping a simple catch at deep mid-wicket earlier in the game.
