IND vs AUS: Case filed against Hyderabad Cricket Association after fans stampede to buy tickets for 3rd T20I

After a crowd stormed outside the Hyderabad cricket stadium on September 22 leading to panic, the Hyderabad police filed a case against the Hyderabad Cricket Association on Friday. Concerning the regrettable incident, the Hyderabad Cricket Association has been charged in three suits. Sections 420, 337, and 21/76 of the City Police Act have been levied to book the cases.

Four persons were hurt in the rush that occurred at Gymkhana grounds after a large number of cricket fans swarmed there to get tickets for the third T20I clash between India and Australia. On September 25, the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad will host the third T20 International match between India and Australia. To buy tickets, a large crowd had congregated at the Gymkhana grounds.

It was seen that there was a long line of fans waiting to purchase tickets. However, things quickly spiraled out of hand, leading to a stampede in which a large number of enthused spectators interfered with law and order. In order to disperse the large throng and regain control, police had to begin lathi charges.

Australia grabs a lead in the series

Speaking of the ongoing series, the visitors are currently leading by 1-0 after their successful run-chase in Mohali on September 20, Tuesday. Australia won the toss and elected to bowl first. As for the Aussies, pacers Nathan Ellis and Josh Hazelwood did their part well by sharing five wickets between themselves.

Australia got off to a strong start in their chase of 209 thanks to a quickfire 39-run partnership between openers Aaron Finch and Cameron Green. After the skipper's dismissal, Green and Steve Smith put together a 70-run partnership with some stunning shots. Cameron Green bagged a half-century and was dismissed scoring a 30-ball 61.

It was then Matthew Wade, who wreaked havoc on the field and took Australia over the line. He scored runs in a hefty during the death overs and added pressure on the Indian bowlers, which led them to make mistakes and leaking runs. Thanks to Wade’s unbeaten knock of 45*(21), Australia pulled off an epic chase, which was also their second highest in T20I history.
