IND vs AUS: Suryakumar Yadav’s horrid run continues as he gets dismissed for third consecutive duck
Suryakumar Yadav has been unable to score any runs in the ODI series against Australia.
The ongoing series decider of the ODI series between India and Australia has been a roller coaster ride so far. After the Aussies elected to bat first, Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh once again boosted the visitors with a good start in the match.
Thereafter, with decent showings from the Australian middle-order, the visitors managed to notch up 269 runs on the board for India to chase. The hosts also got off to a decent start in the run chase, as Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill collectively scored 67 runs.
Virat Kohli scored a brilliant half-century, but he too crumbled under pressure. All eyes were set on Suryakumar Yadav once again, as he came in to bat under pressure. The 32-year-old had added pressure on his head, as he was dismissed on a duck in both of the ODIs of the series.
The middle-order batter’s worst nightmare came true as he failed to read a delivery from Ashton Agar and once again went back to the pavilion on a duck.
Team India under pressure after quick dismissals in the run chase
After a marvellous knock by Virat Kohli, the ace batter looked towards propelling the hosts to a win in the series decider. However, under the relentless attack by the Australian bowling line-up, the hosts lost wickets in quick succession.
After dismissing Kohli, who was batting at 54, Ashton Agar struck again as he sent Suryakumar Yadav back to the pavilion on the very next ball. Hardik Pandya, who was fabulous with the ball in the first innings, will now look to form a partnership with veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.
Both batters have a mountain to climb ahead of them. Having lost wickets in quick succession, Pandya and Jadeja will have to show maturity, if they are keen on clinching the ODI series for India.
