IND vs BAN, 1st Test: Tickets for Chennai encounter to be sold online

As the focus shift towards an intriguing Test season, India will be up against Bangladesh for the two-match home series, inaugurating at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on September 19. India, who are currently at the top of the WTC 2023-25 Points Table, while Bangladesh went up to the fourth place after their recent historic series sweep against Pakistan at Rawalpindi.

The host body for the Chepauk encounter, Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA), via a media release, has confirmed the availability of tickets for the first Test for fans through online mode.

The five-day fixture will commence at 09.30 AM (Indian Standard Time) on each of the dates. The morning session will be played for two hours, followed by a forty minutes of Lunch break. The play will resume for the afternoon session for a couple of hours. The umpires will then call Tea at 02.10 PM for a 20-minute breather. Finally, the last session will call for end of day's play as Stumps will be called at 4.30 PM.

According to the release, the tickets will go on sale starting September 09, 09:45 AM IST through the official ticketing partner, PayTM Insider (https://insider.in). The tickets have been bifurcated into five different phases, spread across general and hospitality boxes throughout the stands at the historic venue.

Indian team to reach Chennai on September 12

For the unversed, the first Test will mark the commencement of India's long red-ball season, and thus, as a preparatory measure, members of the Indian squad will reach Chennai a week before the Test match. Notably, the squad is likely to be announced on or before Monday, September 09, as reported earlier.

Later in the week, the tourist Bangladesh side is expected to be welcomed in Chennai on September 15, and engage in net sessions the following day up until the start of the Test match.
