IND vs BAN 2024: Tamim Iqbal set to commentate during Test series
The former Bangladeshi cricketer has previously been a part of the commentary crew as well.
There are reports circulating around which claim that Bangladesh top-order batter, Tamim Iqbal, might be a part of the commentary box for the two-Test series which Bangladesh will play against India in India, scheduled to commence on September 19, 2024.
The erstwhile skipper has previously expressed his interest for commentating, and him doing the same during the second Test between Bangladesh and the Kiwis in 2023 as well as him being involved as a special guest for the game between the Chattogram Challengers and the Khulna Tigers in the most-recent instalment of the Bangladesh Premier League just proved testament to the fact.
Tamim last donned the Bangladesh jersey in 2023, post which he has been out of cricketing action. If the host broadcasting channel for the impending series, Star Sports, agree with Tamim's request, this will be the first time Tamim will provide commentary for an international game abroad, as per a report from RTV News, a local publication based in Bangladesh.

Highly ambiguous future for Tamim
According to a fresh development, the newly-instated president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, Faruque Ahmed, expressed interest in bringing Tamim back into the mix or if not that, into the board as a member at least.
Tamim's retirement was an abrupt call which was the least expected. However, the most successful opener for the Tigers till date made a decision to take a U-turn as far as his international career was concerned after a meet with the former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

However, a feud with the selectors as well as the management saw him opt out of the tournament due to him being denied the opportunity to take part in all of their 2023 Cricket World Cup games.
Tamim, who holds the record for registering the most number of runs in ODIs at a single venue, has over 15,000 runs in the international arena.
