India are eager to secure a victory in this ongoing second Test to even the series. With five matches in total, a win in Vizag would put them on the right path while a loss could significantly impact their standing in the World Test Championship (WTC) points table.
Earlier in the match, the home team built a substantial 398-run lead in their second innings, with key contributions from Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Shreyas Iyer. England's bowlers, particularly Tom Tom Hartley and Rehan Ahmed, played crucial roles, but it was Jasprit Bumrah's heroics that led to England being bowled out for just 253 in their first innings, giving India a 143-run lead. Yashasvi Jaiswal's impressive double-century in India's first innings set the stage for an exciting battle in the second Test.
The third Test of the series will be played from February 15 in Rajkot.
