IND vs ENG: Rohit Sharma gives hilarious reaction after replays confirm Sarfaraz's catch claim

India put on a remarkable show on Day 1 of the fifth Test against England at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala as they bundled out the opposition for 218. Kuldeep Yadav starred with the ball for the hosts as he picked the fourth five-wicket haul of his career registering figures of 5/72.

While the day was full of action-packed cricket on the field, a hilarious moment was also witnessed during the second session of the day. The incident took place on the second ball of the 27^th over as Zak Crawley edged a ball down the leg side to Dhruv Jurel who failed to grab the ball as it ballooned up in the air. However, Sarfaraz showed great presence of mind and took a brilliant diving catch.

Upon taking the catch, the youngster was confident and ran towards the umpire appealing for the caught dismissal. However, the on-field umpire didn’t raise the finger and Sarfaraz and Shubman Gill pleaded with captain Rohit Sharma to take the review. The Indian skipper denied their request as Jurel wasn’t 100% sure.

However, a few minutes later, the replay was shown on the big screen which proved that Crawley had edged the ball and Sarfaraz was right. Upon seeing it, Rohit gave a wry smile with a hilarious reaction which also left Sarfaraz in splits.

Coming back to the match, Crawly was the top scorer for England with his innings of 79 (108). He was eventually dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav who shattered his stumps in the 38^th over. Apart from him, Ravichandran Ashwin also picked up 4/51 and cleaned up the tail to bundle out England for 218.

India finished the day on 135/1

In reply, India got off to brilliant start with openers Yashasvi Jaiswal (57 off 58) and Rohit Sharma adding 104 runs for the first wicket off 124 balls. Shoaib Bashir got the first strike for his team by getting Jaiswal stumped in the 21^st over. Following his dismissal, Shubman Gill (26* off 39) and Rohit Sharma (52* off 83) took India to stumps finishing the day on 135/1 after 30 overs.
