Approximately 2500 police personnel along with two special anti-terror units have been deployed for security at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad for the India versus New Zealand first ODI at the venue.
India and New Zealand are going to battle it out for ODI supremacy when they begin the series at the Rajiv Gandhi International stadium in Hyderabad on Wednesday, January 18. Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has left no stone unturned and has prepared well for the important match. The kind of arrangements made by the association is beyond excellent and something to take a note of.
An increase in metro train frequency on the Blue line has been announced by Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL). Between 11 am and 4 pm, trains will run at a frequency of five minutes rather than seven, while from 4 pm to 10 in the night, the frequency will be increased to four minutes. Two trains would be kept on standby by HMRL to handle the surge in passenger count after 10 PM.
Stringent security measures are in place for the event. The stadium and its surroundings are being patrolled by 2,500 police officers, including members of the law and order, traffic, SHE, security, special police, armed officers, and special operations teams, according to Rachakonda Police Commissioner D S Chauhan.
In addition to four ambulances and four fire engines, he claimed that two squads of OCTOPUS elite anti-terror groups will also be present for the fixture.
Up to 300 CCTV cameras have already been placed at different locations, and a unified command room will watch CCTV footage to ensure prompt action in case of a mishap. At every door, scanners have been put in place to look for bombs and other illegal materials.
The commissioner stated that anti-sabotage checks would be performed continuously until the game gets over with the assistance of bomb disposal squads. Every checkpoint will conduct a frisking of spectators before allowing them inside.
Former cricketer and the incumbent President Mohammad Azhruddin also tweeted about how well the preparations are going for the match. He tweeted, “We are prepared for tomorrow's mega match. #INDvsNZ. HCA is the proud host of the ODI and everyone here has worked tirelessly to make this a stellar success #gameon”
The Hyderabad Cricket Association has set up two-wheeler and four-wheeler parking spaces at a nearby privately owned land (in addition to the stadium premises) - Little Flower Junior College, or Ramanthapur Church site. During the match, the police will not permit heavy-duty trucks to travel from LB Nagar and Warangal leading up to Habsiguda.
