IND vs SA: Virat Kohli welcomes Keshav Maharaj with Lord Rama's Dhanush pose on Day 1 of 2nd Test
Religious song 'Ram Siya Ram' was played at Keshav Maharaj's entry to the crease.
India got off to an incredible start on Day 1 of the second Test against South Africa at Newlands, Cape Town as they had the hosts reeling at 45/7 after captain Dean Elgar won the toss and elected to bat first. Right-arm seamer Mohammed Siraj was seen at his imperious best in the morning session as he registered his career-best figures.
During the intense session of cricket, a light moment was also witnessed as star India batter Virat Kohli was seen welcoming spinner Keshav Maharaj in a unique fashion. Notably, Maharaj walked into bat after the fall of the sixth wicket as Marco Jansen returned back to the pavilion with South Africa having just 34 runs on the board.
Upon his entry, as is the tradition, the religious song ‘Ram Siya Ram’ was played and Kohli, who was fielding in the slips, was seen doing the iconic Lord Rama 'bow and arrow' pose. The star batter smilingly repeated the pose again and bowed down to the almighty by joining his hands.
